Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to connect billions of objects and devices through global dynamic information exchange leading to diverse applications ranging from smart homes and smart energy systems to e-health and connected vehicles. The IoT is expected to result in major cost savings, new revenues, and employee productivity enhancements. The talk will give a survey of IoT applications and technological advances and will highlight some of the major design and deployment challenges of IoT systems.
