Graduate student Monirosharieh Vameghestahbanati has been given one of only five 2017-2018 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Awards bestowed at Carleton University. In addition, Anastassia Gharib received one of five honourable mentions. This award celebrates the contributions and support Teaching Assistants give to the undergraduate programs in their disciplines, as well as their roles in establishing a positive learning environment and in implementing innovative teaching practices. See details here.

From the Awards Committee: “The awards committee was impressed with the strength and versatility of nominations as well as Carleton TAs’ dedication to enhancing student learning. We received a large number of highly competitive nominations this year, but could only recognize five winners. Based on the information included in multiple nomination letters and supporting documents, the committee unanimously agreed to recognize Monirosharieh’s dedication, passion, and excellence in teaching, as well as the work of Anastassia.”

Congratulations to both!
