The GREAT-DR project a smart grid technologies trial project that aims to give participants the tools to reduce their electricity usage and demand while benefiting from increased control over how they produce and manage energy. This is important for renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaic electricity generated at households, coupled with battery storage, and connected to the larger electricity grid. Mohamed Ibnkahla is involved in this project, which involves multiple industry and university partners, including Ottawa Hydro. See a summary of the project and an associated video.
