Cheryl Schramm, an instructor in the SCE department, is featured in Carleton’s Raven Magazine (February 2020) – Birds and a Plane: Carleton Researchers Pilot a Unique Approach to Wildlife Conservation. Cheryl has teamed up with Jeremy Laliberte in the Mechanical and Aerospace Department and his student Brendan Ooi to tackle a problem posed by her friend Gerhard Bruins, a former Wildlife Service scientist – Can we use a drone to help with shore bird migratory studies in the James Bay basin?

Cheryl and Gerhard will be talking about the opportunities of such community-driven projects within the engineering program during the upcoming 6th Annual Community Campus Connections Event. Come join their conversation there.
