Fatemeh Zabihollahy, won the University Medal for Outstanding Graduate Work – Doctoral Level for her doctoral research entitled “Deep Learning Methods for Abnormality Detection and Segmentation in Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Images”. Fatemeh was supervised by Dr. Eranga Ukwatta and Dr. James Green was her co-supervisor. During the three years of her Ph.D. studies, she has designed and developed novel automated methods for diagnosis of tumors, lesions, and abnormalities from multi-parametric magnetic resonance (mp-MR), computed tomography (CT), and digital histopathologic images using state-of-the-art deep learning-based algorithms. During doctoral studies, Fatemeh was the first author for eight journal articles including Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, European Radiology, IEEE Access, Medical Physics, Physics in Medicine and Biology, and Current Cardiology Reports.
