Dr. Halim Yanikomeroglu is one of several faculty members at the forefront of the telecommunications engineering field with his areas of interest span the overall systems architecture of wireless networks and communications.
Contributing to Carleton’s immense success in this area are the international scholars who come to our campus every year. Halim’s research group receives a high number of visitors at every level who work in the broad area of next-generation wireless networks and who stay anywhere from a few weeks up to two years.
Halim’s lab has hosted 61 visiting scholars over the years. There are currently four visiting Ph.D. students who have joined his research group. Three more scholars are expected to arrive in January 2023, with more arriving in the following spring and summer.
“I feel privileged to be a part of Carleton, which has developed into an international hub for research and innovation in wireless communications and networks. Coming from diverse research backgrounds and with rich skill sets, visiting scholars constitute an important part of my research workforce. Collaborations that start during research visits often continue afterward, in some cases for years.
“It is also worth mentioning that the majority of visiting scholars are sponsored through the mobility funds of their home institutions or the national agencies of their home countries and therefore, make a substantial amount of in-kind contribution to Carleton and Canada.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Carleton International and its highly talented staff for facilitating these visits in the most efficient manner.”
