Congratulations to Hongzhao Zheng, PhD, student in SCE, with Professors Mohamed Atia and Halim Yanikomeroglu, coauthored the paper entitled “High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS)-Aided GNSS for Urban Areas“, received the Best Paper Award in the IEEE International Conference on Wireless for Space and Extreme Environments (WiSEE) 2022, attend.ieee.org/wisee-2022.
Hongzhao’s PhD work is on improving the localization & positioning accuracy of GPS systems through a visionary concept of high altitude platform stations (HAPS) to be deployed in the stratosphere (20 kms above the ground) working in cooperation with the satellite networks.
