As a response to the hacking of the Prime Minister’s Office websites and Cornwall’s Hospital Dr. Jason Jaskolka of the Systems and Computer Engineering department was interviewed by the CBC. Dr. Jaskolka stated Russia’s supporters hack high-level institutions to cause disruption because of their values to society and that “Sharing that knowledge of how it happened, why it happened when it happened, is essential information for actually coming up with good defenses for these kinds of attacks,”.
