Professor Rose Gomar Was Awarded $18,000 Experiential Learning Equipment Fund
Professor Rose Gomar has been awarded an $18,000 Experiential Learning Equipment Fund to support the integration of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) into the Computer Systems curriculum.
The funding will be used to acquire AMD FPGA development boards and create hands-on learning activities that enhance students’ understanding of digital design, computer architecture, and embedded systems.
Through this initiative, students will gain practical experience working with industry-relevant hardware and tools, strengthening the connection between classroom learning and real-world applications. The project reflects the program’s commitment to providing meaningful experiential learning opportunities and preparing graduates for careers in computing and technology.
