George O.M. Yee

BIO

Dr. George Oy Mau Yee received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University and is a researcher in advanced technology. He began his main career at Bell-Northern Research where he contributed to IP telephony and designed middleware to enable telecommunications equipment from different vendors to talk to one another. He then joined the National Research Council of Canada, where he contributed to secure network communication and advancing threat analysis. He next worked for the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, where he helped to uncover privacy violations stemming from new consumer technology. He left the Office in 2014 to start his own independent research organization, Aptusinnova Inc. He has over a hundred refereed research publications. Some of his more recent papers deal with methods for building secure software and ways to limit the damage from a data breach. Among his many honours and achievements are his designations as P.Eng., SMIEEE, CSDP, CISSP and his appointment as an IARIA Fellow
