MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded annually to female international/DACA students currently enrolled or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program at an MPOWER-eligible international study program in the United States or Canada.

Award:

  • Grand Prize: US$5,000
  • First Runner-Up: US$2,000
  • Second Runner-Up: US$1,000

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at an MPOWER-eligible school in Canada
  • Be an international student allowed to legally study in Canada, meaning the applicant meets one of these criteria:
    • Is a Canadian permanent resident
    • Has a valid Canadian study permit

Scholarships are awarded annually to Canadian female engineering students who wish to pursue graduate studies (Master’s or PhD) in engineering at the institution of their choice, in Canada or abroad.

Award:

  • One scholarship of $50,000 (non-renewable)
  • Leadership development support
  • Membership in an engaged community of engineering students

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Identify as a woman
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be a graduate or in the final year of an engineering program at a Canadian university
  • Be enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a graduate engineering program (Master’s or PhD) starting the year after completing the bachelor’s degree

Scholarship awarded annually to female undergraduate students pursuing careers in computing.

Award:

  • Grand Prize: US$1,000

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be female and currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada
  • Applicants should have declared a major or completed at least one academic year in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field

Recognizes the exceptional achievements of undergraduate engineering students who have demonstrated leadership, resiliency, and positive impact in their engineering studies and their community.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada
  • At the award deadline, be currently enrolled full-time and in good standing with a CEAB-accredited undergraduate engineering program
  • Have not previously received this award

The annual Canadian Women in STEM Scholarship, sponsored by the Murai family, is awarded to one young woman in robotics who demonstrates a deep dedication to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in STEM through impressive leadership and strong passion for the field.
