Irena Knezevic has been part of the Nourishing Communities Research Group since its inception in 2007. The research network, which connects more than 80 community, academic, government and private sector partners in Canada and internationally, is committed to community-based research on sustainable food systems. Having recently completed a five-year, SSHRC-funded project on social and informal economy of food, the team recently released a special issue of the journal Canadian Food Studies / La Revue canadienne des études sur l’alimentation, which documents a range of community food initiatives from community orchards to community investment funds.
