Communication and media shape our world. Carleton University’s Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies gives you the knowledge and tools you need to understand your media environment and prepare for the careers of tomorrow.
The B.CoMS program offers a supportive environment where you will get to know your classmates and professors, tap into professional and civic networks that span the capital region and beyond, and build lifelong friendships.
Communication and Media Studies is a growing and thriving community of students. From your first year until your fourth year, there will be many opportunities to meet your fellow classmates and get involved in the campus community. Our program has an established reputation that spans more than 40 years, and our graduates keep in touch in the Capital region and across the globe.
B.CoMS students can also connect through the Carleton Communications Society (CCS), a club run by and for B.CoMS students. The CCS fosters a sense of community and provides opportunities for students to build professional and personal relationships with their peers, instructors, and prospective employers.
We are housed in Richcraft Hall, a beautiful, contemporary building that is a hub for student life. On the fourth floor of Richcraft Hall, our students benefit from the Reader’s Digest Resource Centre with spaces for quiet study and collaborative work.
Ottawa is also the centre of public life in Canada and the place where our country and the world intersect. Studying in the capital provides access to the nation’s decision-makers and the many outstanding organizations that are headquartered here.
