John Geddes

Biography

John Geddes is a former Maclean’s Ottawa bureau chief. His degrees are from University of Toronto and Western University, and he’s a past Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. He has won National Magazine Awards for writing on politics, the Ottawa Book Award for fiction, and, most recently, a Digital Publishing Award in 2021 for arts writing. John grew up in a small mining town in Northwestern Ontario, but Ottawa has been his home for many years.
