Biography

Born and raised in Montréal, I developed a keen interest in the relationship between language, identity, and belonging. Coming from a background in Communication Studies (Concordia University), I specialized in video production, working on pieces related to climate change, refugees in Canada, and others. My Master’s thesis, an interactive web-based documentary film, fused my interest in critical race theory/mixed-race identity and documentary film exploring heritage through natural black hair. I am interested in Canadian broadcast policy, documentary practices, and research methodologies to name a few! At Carleton University, I hope to delve into the CBC’s archives, exploring themes of representation and multiculturalism as projected by our national broadcaster.
