The Canadian Reporter
Carman Cumming was a United Nations and parliamentary correspondent for the Canadian Press before he returned to Carleton as journalism professor from 1969 to 1991. With Carleton co-authors, he was lead author of The Canadian Reporter, the definitive textbook first published in 1993 and now in its third edition. Cumming has published several other books related to journalism history and is currently researching Canada’s connections to the US Civil War.
