Melanie Coulson’s day job is as Export Development Canada’s Editor-in-Chief and Content Strategist. She oversees the complete content strategy for EDC’s digital platforms, webinars, blogging network, social media platforms and premium content assets.
Prior to joining EDC, Melanie was Director, Content & Engagement at Canada 2020, a non-profit organization providing progressive thoughts on Canada’s future, she was responsible for the overall content strategy, driving tremendous growth for all digital and social media.
She was also a senior-level, award-winning journalist in top Canadian newsrooms for 16 years, most recently leading the Ottawa Citizen for many years as Senior Editor and helped the organization develop its digital newsroom. Prior to that, she led digital newsrooms at The Globe and Mail and CBC.ca
If you can’t find Melanie at Carleton University where she teaches Digital Communications or on the stage at TEDx talking about how Canada can redefine its brand, you will likely find her running the trails in Kanata, enjoying some ski adventures with her two boys, or chilling at the cottage with her family.
