Renata Gallagher

Biography

Renata completed her undergraduate degree in Communication and Media Studies at Carleton University, graduating in June 2024. During her master’s degree, she is eager to learn more about how climate change is portrayed by the media and the impact of activism through social media. With many years of experience working in childcare and education, Renata is especially interested in the media children are consuming, how adult conceptions of childhood inform children’s media, the vocabulary and humour children adopt from it, and how education and media intersect. In her spare time, Renata enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, and watching reality television!
