Martin Halek

Biography

Martin graduated with distinction from Carleton’s Bachelor of Journalism program in 2020. After a multitude of odd jobs, he kicked off his career at Vista Radio in 2021 covering small town happenings in Ontario’s cottage country.

Until his departure in 2024, he wrote news for Vista’s national wire and has been heard in stations across the country.

Despite being born and raised in Toronto, Martin has come to see Ottawa as a second home. When he’s not behind the microphone, you can find Martin in the kitchen, out on a trail or waterway, or consuming every medium of art under the sun.
