Jean-Sebastien Marier

Biography

Jean-Sébastien Marier is a bilingual journalist, producer, and university instructor. Over the course of his media career, he has produced print, online, radio, and TV stories in both official languages, coordinated live radio specials, and hosted and produced various podcasts.

In the classroom, he teaches courses covering digital journalism, podcasting, public broadcasting, data storytelling, video production, and visual communication.

He holds a Master of Journalism from Carleton University, a Graduate Diploma in Public Ethics from Saint Paul University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from York University, alongside professional development certificates in university teaching and data science.

Outside the classroom, Jean-Sébastien is an avid camper, climber, cross-country skier, hiker, and kayaker. He lives in Ottawa with his wife Samantha and daughter Fiona.
