Khairoon Abbas

Communications advisor, writer

Khairoon came to Canada as an international student from Tanzania in 2002 and graduated from the Carleton School of Journalism and Communications twice (BA Mass Communication in 2007 and MJ in 2009). Over the last decade, Khairoon achieved one of her lifelong dreams of serving the United Nations as a communications consultant in the United States and France. Between her two degrees, she worked as a writer for a Canadian project where she travelled from Cairo to Cape Town by car across nine countries in Africa. She currently happily and proudly works as a communications advisor in a regional government.
