Senior International Correspondent, The Globe and Mail
Named Journalist of the Year in 2016.
Mark MacKinnon started his career by cold-calling newspaper editors in South Africa for a job, and his subsequent stint at Port Elizabeth’s Herald prompted the realization he wanted to be a foreign correspondent. In his 20 years with The Globe and Mail, he’s been posted to Moscow, Beijing and the Middle East; he now covers Europe. Among his seven National Newspaper Awards, Mark was named Journalist of the Year in 2016. twitter.com/markmackinnon
