International affairs journalist, war correspondent – Mike Blanchfield has been reporting on major international events as a Parliament Hill-based journalist for more than 30 years. Working for the Ottawa Citizen and most recently for The Canadian Press, he has covered wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo. In 2013, he won the R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship to research and write a series on the scourge of cluster bombs. He is the author of the book Swingback: Getting Along in the World With Harper and Trudeau.
