Emmanuella Onyeme Ifeoma

Biography

Emmanuella (she/her/hers) is originally from Nigeria, and has been in Canada for 8 years. In June 2024, she graduated from Carleton University with a Communications and Media Studies degree and a Minor in Film Studies and News Media. She is passionate about concepts related to feminism, race, and social status, and her research interests revolve around understanding the mediatization of culture and exploring the role of media in developing countries. Specifically, Emmanuella aims to focus on the media landscape in Nigeria and its impact on the Western view of the country. She believes that researching this topic would enable discussions about the impact of Western media on third-world countries, particularly through the exploration of data and immigration. Overall, she sees communications and media through a creative lens.

Emmanuella’s hobbies include watching anime and reading Manga/Manhwa or Novels, and she’s a fan of Tyler Perry films. She also enjoys attending gym classes and can often be found at the Carleton gym.
