Payton Wentzlaff

Biography

Payton graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts Honours, double major in Communication and French Studies. Her research interests lie within the scope of environmentalism as she is completing a Master in Communication and New Media Studies with a Specialization in Climate Change. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research which examined sustainability efforts and climate communication practices occurring in Guarujá, Brazil, which led her to develop interests in topics including the framing of climate narratives and mobilization of scientific information at a global scale. She is also a recipient of Carleton’s Ontario Graduate Scholarship.

When she is not studying or working, Payton can be found in the studio, training as a competitive dancer with Ravens Dance Pak, or curled up in front of her computer screen watching a good movie. 🙂
