The Public Servant in Residence in the History Department, Jean Pierre Morin, will discuss his research into the place of historical research in the federal public policy process on March 4 at 2:30 PM in the History Lounge in Paterson Hall.

Although evidence based policy development is gaining ground in the federal public service, historical research is often seen to be less relevant than other forms.  Morin has served as the staff historian for Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada since 2000. He has conducted research into the enhancement of the  policy process  through better use of history while in residence at Carleton. He will discuss his findings and make some recommendations into the role of historians.  All are welcome.
