Norman Hillmer headshotChancellor’s Professor Norman Hillmer of the History Department has been appointed to the Order of Canada in recognition of his distinguished contributions to the scholarship and teaching of international affairs and Canada’s place in the world. Dr. Hillmer is a two-time recipient of the university’s Marston LaFrance Fellowship and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award, as well as the Excellence Award in Graduate Teaching from the Graduate Students’ Association and the Faculty Graduate Mentoring Award. He is the author or editor of thirty books. His latest, O.D. Skelton: A Portrait of Canadian Ambition (University of Toronto Press, 2015) was a finalist for the Canada Prize in the Humanities, the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing, and the J.W.
