Matthew Stubbings (Ph.D. Waterloo) is an instructor and researcher in World History, International Relations, and the British Empire, with a special emphasis on India. He focuses on the role of politics and political ideology in shaping modern institutions and perceptions of empire, including identity concepts such as race and class. His latest research explores Indian participation in British politics of empire and the development of the Commonwealth of Nations.
