MATHEMA Course – Part I – Grade 9 & Exceptional Grade 8 Students

This course is devoted to 3 subjects: Algebra, Computer Science and Physics.

In the Computer Science component we will discuss algorithms and mathematical modeling. The Physics component will focus on kinematics, dynamics, conservation laws, electricity, thermodynamics, optics, and magnetism.

This course consists of 2 parts:

MATHEMA I
MATHEMA II

These courses will NOT be offered in 2018/19. We are replacing these courses with new streams of Physics and Computer Science courses.

In 2017/18 we will offer the MATHEMA II course only.
The course will run from September 16, 2017 to May 2018, Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (break in December) in the School of Mathematics and Statistics – Macphail Seminar room, room 4351 Herzberg Laboratories.
