As the Executive Assistant to Deputy Provost (Academic Operations and Planning) Catherine Khordoc, Sandy Herbert provides administrative support for Dr. Khordoc’s extensive portfolio.

Since joining Carleton as a clerk typist in Facilities Management and Planning (then called the Maintenance Department) 33 years ago, Sandy has held 17 positions in a variety of departments across campus.

A self-described lifelong learner, Sandy is a strong believer in professional development. She has completed many professional development workshops and certificates, including the Management Development Program for Women through Sprott’s Centre for Research on Women and Work (CRWW) in 2004, the Supervisory Development Series in 2016 and Carleton Leader 1 in 2018, followed by Carleton Leader 2 in 2019, and the Distinguished Toastmaster certification in 2020.

Sandy holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Carleton University.
