June 2026
- By June 1: Sign up for your Carleton student cmail email account and check weekly
- June 1: Register for Summer Orientation Day (event takes place August 15)
- June 15: International students, register for International Orientation Day
- By June 20: Review registration instructions for Engineering students
- Late June: Register for Fall Orientation: EngFrosh
July 2026
- July 6-8: Register for first year courses as soon as your time-ticket opens
- Review the Engineering First Year Supplies list – ensure that your laptop meets specifications listed by program
- Sign up for First-Year Connections mentoring program to get connected with an upperyear student mentor for a smooth start to University.
August 2026
- August 15: Attend Summer Orientation Day (advanced registration required)
- Check your textbook list (search by course) and order once confirmed by your instructor
- late-August: Familiarize yourself with Carleton’s Learning Management System (where you’ll find course content) by watching some Brightspace Learner How-To videos
- Are you a woman studying engineering or IT? Learn about opportunities and events available through the Women in Engineering and IT Program, sign up for the newsletter and get swipe card access to the study lounge.
September 2026
- Complete the Self-Assessment for Engineering (SAFE) via Brightspace (announcement will be sent once available)
- September 4: international students, attend International Orientation Day (advanced registration required)
- September 6 to September 13: Fall Orientation: EngFrosh (advanced registration required)
- September 8: Attend Engineering Academic Orientation Day
- September 9: First day of classes! Review your class schedule in advance of classes starting
