We have launched the War in Ukraine Observatory Project. The Observatory is space for Canadians to gain a better understanding of the war. It provides academic resources such interviews with regional and subject-matter experts, as well as trusted news sources. It also provides practical information for Ukrainian refugees on Federal and Provincial support programs.

The War in Ukraine Observatory project is an initiative by the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University with the support of the Faculty of Public Affairs at Carleton University as well as the Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations and Jean Monnet Project on EU Learning in Canadian high schools, which are funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
EURUS Statement on the War in Ukraine
The Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University is deeply shocked and saddened by the invasion of Ukraine ordered by the Russian government and supported by the government of Belarus. We condemn this violation of international law and the sovereignty of Ukraine as an independent state. We urge the Russian government to stop all military actions and to facilitate resolution of the humanitarian crisis that this invasion has caused. Our thoughts are with the Ukrainian people, as well as those from Central Europe and Eurasia—including those who oppose the war in Russia and Belarus—who suffer the consequences of Russia’s invasion.
