“Is trans representable?” An Informal Virtual Graduate Workshop with Cáel M. Keegan

Friday, March 25, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm

Description

If trans is “not a thing or being, it is rather the processes through which thingness and beingness are constituted” (Hayward & Weinstein, 2015, p. 196), what does trans look like? Can trans ever be represented?

Join Fulbright Canada Distinguished Research Chair of Arts and Social Sciences Cáel M. Keegan virtually on Friday, March 25th between 3:00pm-4:30pm for an informal conversation about research at the intersections of gender, media, visibility, aesthetics, ethics, and activism. This is your chance to chat with others about the challenges you encounter in your own research and to hear from Keegan about new directions in his research and the challenges he is encountering.

All Carleton graduate students are welcome!

To learn more about Dr. Keegan’s research, come to his public talk “Bad Trans Objects” on March 17th from 5:00-6:30pm. Registration required: https://carleton-ca.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwufuuvrzsuE9bDHww85Md5j9LuuSW1XgAF
