Tool and Equipment Rental

I acknowledge that Carleton University, its Board of Governors, employees, servants or agents shall not be liable for any injury to my person or loss or damage to my personal property arising from my use of the tools and materials provided by the Faculty of Engineering and Design ,Carleton University and/or the activities associated with their use.

I understand there are potential risks inherent in my use of the materials and tools, such as minor or serious injuries resulting from my actions, the actions or inaction of others or a combination of both.

These risks include but are not limited to the following:
i) An injury arising from an allergic reaction to or chemical reaction from the materials used
ii) The accidental cutting of fingers , hands or other body parts from the use of hand tools and power tools provided by Faculty of Engineering and Design ,Carleton University.
iii) Damage to personal property caused by the materials and tools provided by Faculty of Engineering and Design, Carleton University
iv) Any and all risks that may be associated with the use of material and tools.

I hereby acknowledge that I am aware of the risks of the materials and the tools provided to me and confirm I am competent in the use of these materials and tools.

My use of the materials and tools is an acknowledgment of the inherent risks involved, and my willingness to assume those risks.

I further agree and understand that I am solely responsible for damages I may cause to the tools provided to me. I agree to reimburse the University for such damage and acknowledge the cost to repair or replace such damaged or missing items shall be deemed as a debt to the University and shall be subject to the University’s policy on delinquent accounts published in the University calendar.

I have carefully read, fully understand, and freely and voluntarily accept the terms contained within this Agreement and understand that I, on my own behalf accept any and all risks associated with my use of materials and tools provided by the Faculty of Engineering and Design. I confirm that I have authority to enter into this Agreement on behalf of myself and understand that the terms contained herein are legally binding. I understand and agree that the assumption of risk contemplated herein is intended to be as broad and inclusive as possible by the applicable laws of Canada and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
