Students outside of Canada who have recently accepted admission to Carleton University after applying for a study permit with admission from another Designated Learning Institution (DLI) have been informed that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) needs to re-assess their application to come to Canada.
- If the application is still being processed, the student should send Carleton admission information via the IRCC web form.
- If the application has been already been approved, the student must submit an entirely new application, including fees.
IRCC says that if a student changes DLI before coming to Canada without letting them know, the student won’t be allowed to board their flight. Details are found on the IRCC website.
Study permit holders in Canada who transfer to Carleton from another Designated Learning Institution don’t need to apply for a new or revised study permit. They are required to notify IRCC of the change through their online account.
