International students looking for employment in Canada have unique considerations to keep in mind. Career Services is hosting a Virtual Winter Career Fair on January 27th, where students will have the opportunity to meet and chat with recruiters and professionals in your field of interest, and explore full-time, part-time, summer, co-op and remote work opportunities.
In order to be best prepared for this event, please keep the following in mind:
- You must understand your rights to work in Canada. Please visit the ISSO’s Working in Canada webpage to understand work privileges for Study Permit Holders.
- You will need to obtain a Social Insurance Number (SIN) in order to work in Canada. This is a nine-digit number used in the administration of various Canadian government programs. Please visit the ISSO’s Working in Canada webpage for details on how to apply.
