International students are invited to socialize and build connections with other students through upcoming social and cultural events.

Ravens Zone

Ravens Zone is a weekly session where students can connect with fellow Ravens. Each session includes activities, games, and a space for conversation. To join a Ravens Zone session, students must register on the CAB page to receive the link to join. Registration is only required once as the same event link will be used for every session.

Canadian Tea Time: Welcome (Back) Edition

Canadian Tea Time is your time to unwind with games, friends, and a warm drink. In this special Canadian Tea Time, we will be welcoming new students, playing online games, and answering your questions about the semester ahead. Drop in any time during the 2 hour session to meet other students and win some awesome prizes! Sessions will be held January 13 at 8:30 am EST and January 14 at 3:30 pm EST. Register on the ISSO events page to receive an event reminder!

Global Dance Party: K-Pop Edition

Experience cultural dancing from around the world! CAB, the ISSO, CUSA and Athletics are excited to offer Global Dance Parties: an opportunity for you to learn about various cultures around the world through dance and community connection. This month, join CUKIS (Carleton University Korean and International Society) for K-Pop music and dancing. Get ready to learn some new moves and dance the evening away! No experience is necessary and you are welcome to join our Zoom events with your camera on or off. This event takes place January 13 at 7 pm EST. Registration for this event will appear on the CUx website in early January.

Managing Your Studies From Abroad

International students studying from overseas may be studying under different circumstances from students living in Canada. This workshop is a space for you to learn about academic, social, and wellness resources available to help you succeed during the Winter 2021 term, while connecting with other international students in a similar situation. This workshop takes place on January 20 at 9:30 am EST. Register by visiting the ISSO events page.
