Student Testimonials
- Campus Life
-
“There were many opportunities to get involved in campus life. The Residence X team were always hosting events for those of us in accommodation halls to make sure we were sociable and could explore campus in new and fun ways. I also had many opportunities to join their sports teams and other recreational activities. I joined their competitive polo club at the beginning of the year and went on to win 2nd place at Nationals with the university team!” – Full Year 2022/2023, Bachelor of Arts in Law and English
- Academic Environment
-
“It was fairly easy to find courses that would fulfill my degree requirements at Carleton. The teaching at my host institution was top-notch and the professors there were very eager to lecture on the topics and give students an opportunity to discuss the material with them outside of class! I had a great academic experience.” – Full Year 2022/2023, Bachelor of Arts in Law and English
- Housing Experience
-
“I lived on campus which made it easier to adjust to my surroundings more and gave me confidence for knowing my way around the campus. Plus, it made it easier to meet new friends and gave me connections to people in other halls. I simply used their online portal to apply for residence, just as you would here. But the university offered many resources for off-campus housing too! “ – Full Year 2022/2023, Bachelor of Arts in Law and English
- Setting Up Phone and Bank Account
-
“I chose a bank online that offered a free student account and was able to get it set up in store with an employee. It was easy and simple to do. For my cell phone, I used a website called giffgaff which offers cheap UK plans with loads of data available for Europe and the UK. They mailed me my SIM card by the next day!” – Full Year 2022/2023, Bachelor of Arts in Law and English
- Travel Tips
-
“I would definitely try to go to as many places as you can in your host country. Travel is fairly cheap throughout Europe and the UK and I would often take the train or EasyJet flights to go to Scotland, Hungary, Italy and different cities in England! It’s a once in a lifetime experience and it is well worth it!” – Full Year 2022/2023, Bachelor of Arts in Law and English
