Student Testimonials
- Campus Life
-
“Many opportunities for students to get involved in recreational sports and societies (can register in your student space) or volunteer with professional events such as the Paris Peace Forum. There are also student-organized groups that hold events across campus.” – Fall 2023, Master of Public Policy and Administration
- Academic Environment
-
“The teaching style and expectations were not much different from a typical graduate-level course at Carleton. I found the workload manageable. My classes were sufficiently challenging and interesting.” – Fall 2023, Master of Public Policy and Administration
- Housing Experience
-
“Former expats generally recommend (to those in search of an apartment) booking a hotel or AirBnb for the first 3–4 weeks, then meeting with letting agents or subletters in person during that time. Students must have figured out who can sign as their guarantor before going this route. However, it is the best option to ensure they will find a safe, reasonably priced place.” – Fall 2023, Master of Public Policy and Administration
- Setting Up Phone and Bank Account
-
“Setting up a cell number with Free Mobile was easy and affordable. I went to one of their stores and a sales rep helped me install a SIM on my phone. The contract can be cancelled at any time. Until their phones are set up, students should consider downloading an eSIM with service in France/Europe (before their departures) to at least have data in the meantime.” – Fall 2023, Master of Public Policy and Administration
- Travel Tips
-
“There is so much to see! The ease of travelling around Europe was one of the best aspects of going on exchange. I was able to visit 18 cities across 8 countries. I loved Copenhagen, London, and Budapest the most.” – Fall 2023, Master of Public Policy and Administration
