50 Years of Scientific Debates over Holocaust Survival
Professor Michael Dorland of Carleton’s School of Journalism and Communication is undertaking an in-depth examination into the complex network of medical and scientific researchers who sporadically explored the effects of prolonged terror and starvation among Holocaust survivors in Europe after the war. Dorland is specifically targeting the case of France, where roughly 3,500 surviving French Jews returned following their release from concentration camps. His study is funded by a three-year operating grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
