First Annual Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference in Jewish Studies

Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies, Carleton University

April 11, 2011

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Rebecca Margolis, University of Ottawa

The Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies at Carleton University is proud to announce the first annual interdisciplinary graduate student conference in Jewish Studies to be held on April 11, 2011.

We invite papers from graduate students working on projects in Jewish Studies broadly defined from a variety of disciplinary perspectives (history, religious studies, cultural studies, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, film, literature, art history, among others).  We are particularly interested in papers from scholars who take an interdisciplinary approach to their topic or whose work challenges existing assumptions or paradigms within their respective field.

Papers should be 15-20 minutes long.  Proposals consist of a 300 word abstract of the paper and a brief c.v.  Please also indicate in your proposal if you will be requiring any audiovisual needs for your presentation.  Please direct all proposal submissions and inquiries about the conference to: zelikovitz.centre@gmail.com.

The deadline for submission is MONDAY, JANUARY 31, 2011
