Did you know? Carleton University’s Religion program will be offering its first travel course to Israel in Spring 2014.
The course will be a 3000 level Religion course, entitled — God in Israel: Historical Encounters.
All students from all majors and all religious backgrounds will be eligible to apply to register for the course. No Hebrew language knowledge required.
Taught by Professors Deidre Butler and Shawna Dolansky with guest lectures by international scholars.
One requirement will be a prerequisite of at least 1.0 credits in Jewish Studies (see Jewish Studies Minor link: http://calendar.carleton.ca/undergrad/undergradprograms/religion/#Minor_in_Jewish_Studies for what courses are eligible). Plan ahead and make sure you pick up the credits you need!
Save the date and spend three weeks in May 2014 traveling through Israel. Details will be available towards the end of Summer 2013 on both the ZC web site and the Religion program site. Information sessions will be held Fall 2013. Deadline for application: October 15 2013. Students will provide a CV and write a short cover letter explaining their interest in studying in Israel.
Costs yet to be determined but will include Carleton tuition, airfare, lodging/meals, travel in country, and entrance to all museums/digs/attractions.
