The Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship is pleased that following four intense days with Koa Padolsky, our director, and the incredible staff at the Carleton’s Media Centre Studio we completed the recording of the survivors’ testimony project as per schedule.

The staff at the Media Centre was outstanding; highly professional, skilled and easy to work with. Koa who arrived from London, England earlier that week, blended in beautifully and did a superb job interviewing the survivors. The recording process, though complex progressed smoothly. Most important the survivors were pleased.

We recorded eight out of the ten survivors (two survivors could not attend). I am in the process of scheduling another recording session for early September, hoping to provide an additional opportunity to the two survivors who were not able to attend their sessions to record their stories.

Thank you notes went out to all of our project donors. Their contribution has helped us achieve our goal to preserve the stories of Holocaust survivors currently residing in Ottawa. This is an important “Made in Ottawa” initiative and a first for Ottawa. We will continue to keep our donors informed of our progress. We look forward to the completion of our project and to a screening this fall.

Many thanks to Marion, Kathy, Annette, Les and Batia for the teamwork, and for the time and effort you put into this important project. We could not have done it without you. Yishar Koach!
