On February 1, 2024, students from Professor Deidre Butler’s online RELI 2110 introduction to Judaism course gathered for an in-person cooking class at Kehillat Beth Israel synagogue to learn about Jewish foodways, the laws of keeping kosher, and the diversity of Jewish communities around the world.
We made challah, hummus and Egyptian cream-filled baklava. Thank you to KBI for welcoming us and to Mashgiach Jenny Roberge and community cook Lydia Nacawa who taught us so much.
