The NPSIA-PT&D is pleased to present our 2011 Parliamentary Boot Camp featuring a number of current and new professional training programs for newly elected MPs, staff and new Public Servants.
Current programs offered through the 2011 Government Boot Camp program include our Practical Certificates in International Social Protocol – Networking, Cocktail and Dinning Etiquette, and our new Federal Government Affairs Management workshop. Also included is our Executive Certificate in Intergovernmental Negotiation (Federal – Provincial & Territorial) program. Finally, we offer “on-retainer” consultation, facilitation and coaching in Intergovernmental and International Affairs management. 1) The Practical Certificate in International Social Protocol – Networking, Cocktail and Dinning Etiquette
This workshop is for Professionals with public profile. It is designed to develop skills in and knowledge of the basic rules of social protocol as well as appropriate networking, cocktail, dining and entertaining etiquette.

2) The Practical Certificate in Federal Government Affairs Management
In our new Practical Certificate in Federal Government Affairs Management program participants learn about the structure of the federal government, its main stakeholders and their interactions; the political decision-making and Parliamentary ratification process; the federal budget cycle; and program implementation through sound management practices.
The Program consists of 12 modules that cover critical management processes and their related competencies. They include policy development, priority-setting and decision-making, political and governmental alignment, the legislative process, and a concise examination of Federalism in Canada including a review of jurisdictional issues and relations with other levels of government. Learning is facilitated through a series of exercises and a final integrative simulation.

3) The Executive Certificate in Intergovernmental Negotiation
(Federal – Provincial & Territorial) for Federal Government of Canada Directors.
Our hallmark intergovernmental negotiation program, this Executive Certificate in Intergovernmental Negotiation is offered by invitation every two-years in Ottawa for Federal Government of Canada Directors, all other EX level officers and senior Managers who exercise negotiation and decision-making authority over intergovernmental matters.

4) Intergovernmental and International Affairs Consulting, Coaching and Facilitation
NPSIA-PT&D now offers our Federal and Provincial clients planning and positioning services in preparation of major intergovernmental and international negotiations and agreements. This includes strategic and tactical advice throughout the negotiation process, from the pre-negotiation planning stage to the end game and final agreement. Activities may vary from an assessment of needs, position identification to more engaging strategic planning sessions involving the use of analytic models, cases and preparatory, negotiation simulations.
