Contract Instructor Salaries for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 courses:

Pursuant to Article 16 of the CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) Collective Agreement, applications are invited from members of the CUPE 4600-2 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following Philosophy courses during the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 terms:

Note to Applicants: As per Articles 16.3 and 16.4 of the CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) Collective Agreement, the posted vacancies listed above are first offered to applicants who meet the incumbency criterion. The current CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) Collective Agreement can be found on Carleton University’s Academic Staff Agreements webpage.

As per Article 15.4 of the CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) Collective Agreement, all applicants must apply in writing as specified in the posting and in relation to each course for which they wish to be considered. All applications must include an up-to-date CV, including a complete listing of all courses taught within the CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) bargaining unit at Carleton University. Applicants shall not be required to submit more than one (1) CV for each department. Other required documents must be relevant to judge qualifications and should not require applicants to provide details as to how they would shape or teach the course. In their applications, Contract Instructors shall indicate all courses for which they wish to be considered. When applying to classes for which they have incumbency, applicants shall not be required to (re)submit documentation beyond their updated CV.

Applications will be open from May 1 until June 1, 2026. Note: The department does not use AI in the process for application screening.

The following course(s) have been assigned to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, or visiting scholars.  These courses are not open for applications, but the department will contact the most senior incumbent to review their rights under Article 17.6 of the CUPE 4600-2 Collective Agreement:
