Please join us in congratulating Anastasia Weir who has won an undergraduate research internship as a part of the Carleton University Research Opportunity Program (CUROP)! Anastasia will be working under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Nunes on a project titled, ‘Hormonal Influences on Violent Attitudes: The Role of Testosterone‘. Here is what Anastasia had to share about this project:
I’m researching whether testosterone influences how we evaluate violence—that is, whether we view it as positive or negative. Testosterone is commonly associated with aggression in popular culture, but psychological research indicates the relationship is complex and not yet fully understood. I’ve always been curious about what shapes our attitudes and behaviours, so I’m excited to explore how hormones might play a role.

Congratulations, Anastasia on this amazing opportunity!
