Adrian Chan and the new Research and Education in Accessibility, Design, and Innovation (READi) program
Adrian Chan hosted the Research and Education in Accessibility, Design, and Innovation (READi) program symposium Monday Nov 27, which launched the READI program. Prof. Chan was awarded $1.65 million from NSERC for this initiative, which performs research on providing support for people with disabilities.
All NSERC CREATE grants were announced at the symposium, which featured the following speakers:
- The Honourable Kent Hehr (Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities)
- Dr. Pierre Charest (NSERC Vice-President Research Grants and Scholarships Directorate)
- Mme Yazmine Laroche, (Associate Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Communities)
- Alfred Spencer (Director, Accessibility Directorate of Ontario)
- Dr. Keith Gordon (Vice-President Research, CNIB)
- Dr. Alastair Summerlee (Interim President and Vice-Chancellor, Carleton University)
