Conference Phone
Brand: Poly Inc. (formerly known as Polycom)
Poly Inc. was founded in 1990 in Silicon Valley by Brian Hinman and Jeffrey Rodman. It develops video, voice, content collaboration and communication technology. The company initially created audio-conferencing speaker phones, but soon added content sharing, video conferencing, video network and system monitoring products. Its first product was the SoundStation in 1992. HP Inc. Acquired Poly in March 2022.
The SoundStation2 was developed in 2004 to replace the original SoundStation, a triangular speakerphone with full-duplex audio. It improved sound transparency with 3 kHz audio bandwidth, dynamic noise reduction technology and conventional analog POTS connection. It also allowed an application port for mobile and internet calling. The backlit display displayed phone numbers, numbers called, progress of call and caller ID.
