The treatment of refugees seeking to live in safety. The politics of cluster bombs. The impact of Canada’s foreign aid focus on maternal, newborn and child health.

Since 2012, the R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellowship has annually supported major works of journalism on issues such as these—stories from around the world that illuminate critical Canadian public policy concerns.

Join Carleton’s journalism school as we celebrate the legacy of Jim Travers, an extraordinary journalist who passionately believed in the importance of Canadian reporters bearing witness to events outside our borders.

The Hon. Bob Rae, Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations, will deliver the keynote address,”Engaging with a world in turmoil.”

Our evening will be moderated by longtime foreign correspondent and CBC Ideas host Nahlah Ayed.
